Merino Masterpieces – An ode to art with Design Boulevard

Nestled in the heart of Bangalore, this residence has been designed by Design Boulevard, a multidisciplinary design studio offering architectural, interior and landscape design. The team has been extensively appreciated and awarded many accolades for their elegant design sensibility and for their ability to create unique homes that bring to fore their expertise and ability to carve beautiful spaces.

Kanā is an apartment that is home to Sowmya and Karthik, homeowners who envisioned their abode as a welcoming space for hosting friends and sharing stories while showcasing their passion for vintage and art. The goal of the project was to conceptualize a space that had a balance between colours, art and textures. This was done to emphasize the client’s love for art, for spaces that formed cozy nooks in their home and to make it as functional as possible. The large balcony in the apartment had good light and ventilation filtering into the space, throughout the day. Therefore, playing with a pop of colour throughout the home reflected well in the overall look of the space.

The open plan layout was instrumental in realizing the design aspirations for the project, thus allowing a seamless integration of various forms, colours, and textures. This thoughtful design approach resulted in a warm and cozy ambiance, making the apartment a true reflection of the dreams and lifestyle of the inhabitants. The blend of vintage elements with a touch of contemporary created a unique aesthetic that resonated with the taste of the users, ensuring that every corner of the home tells a story.

The harmonious fusion of different design elements not only enhances the visual appeal but also adds to the functionality of the space, making it ideal for both everyday living and entertaining guests. Careful attention to detail and the personalized approach to design have transformed this 1920 sqft apartment into a sanctuary where the clients can express their individuality while enjoying the comforts of home. The end result is a living space that is not only beautiful and inviting but also deeply personal, reflecting the essence of the clients’ desires and passions.

With over 13 years of association with Merino Laminates, this project by Design Boulevard too shows an expansive usage of products from the brand across this project. When we asked the designers about their experience of using the brand, they highlighted the wide range of options that they can choose from, not only in terms of colours or finishes, but in terms of pricing too. They use different laminates and finishes from the brand for kitchens, bar units, wardrobes or built-in furniture. while they also use Decolam from Merino for internal finishes of furniture as well.
